The Zilla Ghaziabad co-stars are shooting for an underworld story set in Gujarat

Luck director Soham Shah is working with Sanjay Dutt and Vivek Oberoi on a plot woven around the criminal world of Gujarat. The big-budgeted mafia drama also stars the leading lady of Bol, Humaima Mallick, and Paresh Rawal. The film’s cast and crew are currently in Jaipur for a 50-day start to finish shoot schedule. The good news is, that negates the rumour that Agneepath’s Kancha Cheena was miffed with the young filmmaker for disclosing details of one of their projects in the past.

But the bad news is, we aren’t jumping with joy over the announcement of Ashtavinayak Cine Vision’s latest production. Why, you ask? Of the innumerable avatars Sanjay and Vivek have played on the big screen, the ones that made a long-lasting impression on people’s minds are their gangster roles. Remember Sanjay’s Vastav act and Vivek’s part in Company? So what will the star actors do differently in yet another underworld drama to surprise the audiences, we wonder!

Maybe it’s time to repeat what detractors of Bollywood’s conventional filmmakers have gone hoarse crying. B-towners should put aside the hackneyed story structures and wear thinking caps for some original ideas. Don’t you think so too?
