The original style icon of Indian cinema, and a diva forever, we wish Zeenat Aman a very happy birthday!

Born on November 19, 1951, Zeenat Aman is the original fashionista of Bollywood. Her unusual and often risqué choices of roles earned her superstardom in the 70s. She started off in showbiz as a journalist, but the true blue diva that she was, she soon took to modeling, and later went on to win the Miss Asia Pacific title in 1970, and was a Miss India runner-up before that.

Her most famous role came only in her third film, as she was about to leave B-town, when Dev Anand offered her Hare Rama Hare Krishna. She won a Filmfare award for the Best Supporting Actor for the film, and there was no looking back after that. Her other memorable roles were in Yaadon Ki Baraat, Heera Panna, Shalimar and Don, which also resurrected her career. Zeenat Aman was the most sought after glamorous cover girl, with a great sense of style, which she personified in a cultured yet sexy Indian avatar.

At 61, she still exhibits the aura of a diva, dressed with elegance, and a twinkle in her eye. We wish Zeenat Aman a very happy birthday!
