56th Grammy Awards: New Zealand singer Lorde’s Royals wins Song of the Year

It was her second Grammy, which took place Sunday at the staples Center in Los Angeles

New Zealand born teenage singer and songwriter Lorde’s song Royals won the song of the year award at the 56th annual Grammy Awards.

She also won the best pop solo performance trophy for Royals. Lorde had written the song with Joe Little, who also accompanied her on the stage to accept the trophy.

The other nominations in the category were Roar by Katy Perry, Same love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Just give me a reason by Pink featuring Nate Ruess.
