Anurag Kashyap part of Marrakech International Film Festival 2013

The filmmaker will be a part of the jury with seven other jury members from other countries

The 13th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival 2013 will have an Indian connection in the form of Anurag Kashyap. The maverick director will be a part of the jury of the Marrakech International Film Festival. The 13th edition of the festival will have
Martin Scorsese as the President of the Feature Film jury. Martin said, “I’ve shot two films in Morocco and I have an eternal feeling of gratitude towards this country, its people and the royal family for having allowed me to make these movies”.

Talking about Anurag being on the jury, Melita Toscan du Plantier, the festival head stated, “Last year, I organised for Martin Scorsese to receive Anurag’s film Gangs Of Wasseypur post which he wrote to him saying how he loved it, but they never met. So, when I proposed to Martin to have one member of jury from India this year and suggested Anurag’s name, he said yes right away.”

In the past, there have been many Indians who have been a part of the jury including Shashi Kapoor, Deepa Mehta, Shekhar Kapur, Nandita Das and Sharmila Tagore.Subscribe to me on YouTube
