The two actors used their Padmashri tags in the credits of their recently released film

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed film actors M Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam to return the Padmashri awarded to them as they were found misusing the title conferred in Denikaina Ready. The names of the two actors along with their Padmashri tags were shown during the film credits. The HC expressed dissatisfaction over the way honourific titles such as Padmashri are being exhibited for partisan publicity purposes.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar told the counsel of the actors to surrender their Padmashri titles while hearing a plea by BJP senior leader N Indrasena Reddy, who wanted the court to cancel the titles awarded to these two actors. During the hearing, the counsel representing Mohan Babu told the court that an actor will have no say over the display of titles in a film. However, it was noticed that the film was produced by Twenty Four Frames Factory Pvt, owned by Mohan Babu’s family .Subscribe to me on YouTube
