The actor is nominated for a Golden Globe award
Hollywood actor Sandra Bullock, who is happy to be nominated for a Golden Globe Award, credits director Alfonso Cuarón for the same. The 49-year-old is nominated in the best actress in a motion picture (drama) category for her performance in Gravity.
“The reason I am lucky enough to receive this wonderful nomination from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is because Alfonso Cuarón awarded me the most extraordinary experience, which was to work with him,” Bullock said in a statement.
Gravity, also featuring George Clooney, grabbed four nominations at the 71st Golden Globe awards. It has been nominated in the best motion picture drama category, Steven Price is nominated for best original score and Cuarón is in the race for the best director trophy. “What a great year for cinema! I’d like to congratulate my fellow nominees and, of course, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for recognising Gravity with four Golden Globe nominations,” Cuarón said.
“I had wonderful collaborators both in front of and behind the camera who took something of a leap of faith with me years ago when we set out to make the film. I share this honour with all of them. I’m very happy too for Sandy (Bullock) who brought this story to life, and for Steve whose score drives so much of the film’s emotion, for their well-deserved nominations,” he added.
