Sharon Stone receives Peace Summit award

Stone has been honoured with the Nobel Peace Summit Award for her AIDS charity work

Sharon Stone bagged the award on Wednesday at the official ceremony of the 13th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Warsaw, Poland, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The 55-year-old has worked closely with US charity amFAR – the Foundation for AIDS Research – and also holds the office of campaign chairman for them. The US actor was presented with the accolade by the Dalai Lama. Previously, the Nobel Peace Summit Award has been given to Sean Penn, Annie Lennox, Bono, George Clooney, Don Cheadle, Bob Geldof, Roberto Baggio, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens and Roberto Benigni.

Stone has been involved with The Foundation For AIDS Research since 1995.
