Niharika Singh

Niharika Singh is an film actress and the winner of Femina Miss India Earth 2005. She went on to represent India at the Miss Earth pageant held in Philippines in the same year. She appeared in several TV commercials, print ads and music videos and hosted a reality series ‘Banungi main Miss India’ on television. Singh has done acting workshops with Barry John and a Film Appreciation course from the Film and Television Institute of India. She made her acting debut with the film Miss Lovely, which premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and she earned rave reviews for her performance in the movie.

Kamini Kaushal

Kamini Kaushal is a Hindi film and television actress, most noted for her roles in films like Neecha Nagar (1946) which won the 1946 Palme d’Or (Golden Palm) at Cannes Film Festival and Biraj Bahu (1955) which won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award in 1955. Kaushal worked as a radio artist before she was discovered by Chetan Anand as the lead for his film Neecha Nagar. Thereafter Kaushal worked with top leading men of her time such as Ashok Kumar, Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar in movies like Shaheed (1948), Nadiya Ke Paar (1949), Shabnam (1949) and Arzoo (1950).) Post 1965 she moved to playing character roles. She also stepped into writing children’s stories which were published in the children’s magazine Paraag She also did serials like Chand Sitare on Doordarshan and in 1986, made an animation film Meri Pari. Kaushal worked in the highly popular serial, Shanno Ki Shaadi on STAR Plus as well as ‘Waqt Ki Raftaar’ on (DD National).

Paoli Dam

Paoli Dam began her acting career in 2004 with the Bengali television serial Jibon Niye Khela. She worked in Bengali television serials for six years on ETV Bangla. Her Bollywood debut was Hate Story. She was then seen in Vikram Bhatt’s Ankur Arora Murder Case, directed by Sohail Tatari. She is daughter of Amol and Papiya Dam. She has been appeared in Bengali movies like Tarpor Chand Uthlo, Sonar Harin and Jaya. The film was screened at the Cannes film festival, and also at film festivals in Toronto, U.K. In 2011, she received international recognition for her role in the Bengali film, Chatrak.

Nandita Das

Nandita Das is an Indian film actress and director. As an actress, she is known for her performances in Fire , Earth , Bawandar , Kannathil Muthamittal , Azhagi and Before The Rains . As a director, she is known for her directorial debut Firaaq, which has won a number of national and international awards. She has been awarded the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France for her work. Nandita Das was the first Indian to be inducted into their International Women’s Forum’s hall of fame for her contributions to arts. She has Won – Best Debut – 1947 Earth at Santa Monica Film Festival, Best Actress – Bawander in (Cairo International Film Festival), Won – Special Prize – Kannathil Muthamittal (Cannes Film Festival), Won – Best Actress – Kamli (Asian Festival of First Films). In 2002, Das married Saumya Sen but they got divorced. Then she got married to Maskara. Das and Maskara had a baby boy named Vihaan on 11 August 2010.

Zhang Yimou

Zhang Yimou is a Chinese film director, producer, writer and actor, and former cinematographer. He made his directorial debut with Red Sorghum in 1987. The movie earned positive reviews and even won the Golden Bear for Best Picture at the 38th Berlin International Film Festival in 1988.Some of his other films include Ju Dou (1990), Raise the Red Lantern (1991), , The Story of Qiu Ju (1992), To Live (1994), Not One Less (1999), Hero, House of Flying and Coming Home. Raise the Red Lantern was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 1992 Academy Awards, becoming the second Chinese film to earn this distinction. The Story of Qui Ju won the Golden Lion award at the 1992 Venice Film Festival. The movie To Live released at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Prize, as well as earning a Best Actor prize for Ge You.

Jean Dujardin

Jean Dujardin started off his career as a stand-up comedian in Paris, before he started appearing in comedy shows and movies. His most prominent role that cemented his fame in the international world was that of George Valentin in the 2011 silent movie, The Artist. This role won him many awards, inclusive of the Academy Award for Best Actor, Golden Globe Award for Best Actor- Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and the Cannes Film Festival Best Actor. He has also appeared in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street and George Clooney’s 2014 historical drama The Monuments Men.
