Isha Sharvani

Isha never gave acting in Bollywood too much priority, until she was spotted by Subhash Ghai who required someone with talented dancing skills to perform in his movie Kisna. He offered her a main role in the film opposite Vivek Oberoi. The film did not do well but her dance performances were appreciated. She was also the dancer opposite Hrithik Roshan in the Parle Hide & Seek commercial, performing a much appreciated dance duet with Hrithik. Since then she has continued her dance performances on stage, as well as signing for several additional movies which were released in 2006 and 2007. She appeared as a female lead in the Hindi comedy Darwaza Bandh Rakho in 2006. She is currently the lead dancer in the Daksha Sheth Dance Company, and has performed in front of live audiences throughout the world, including Mumbai, London, Perth and Muscat.

Hansika Motwani

She started her career with TV serials like Shaka Laka Boom Boom followed by Des Mein Nikala Hoga Chand for which she was awarded as Favourite Child Actor Award at Star Parivaar awards. She has also worked with famous celebrities like Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in the film Koi Mil Gaya.She was nominated by Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut film in Aapka Suroor with Himesh Reshamiya. She has won many debut awards in the South Film Industry. Hansika was born to Pradeep Motwani, a businessman and Mona Motwani, a dermatologist. She is social worker too and helps unprivileged children and women also. Nowadays she predominantly appears in Telegu and Tamil films. She is the brand Ambassador of ‘Chennai turns Pink’, an awareness programme to create breast cancer awareness among urban women. Her fan in Tamil Nadu has built a temple for her in January, 2013.

Ameesha Patel

Ameesha Patel had a dream debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kaho naa… pyaar hai. She is originally from Mumbai and hails from an affluent Gujarati family. She completed her education at the Tufts University, Massachusetts. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and she started off with plays. Rakesh Roshan then offered her Kaho naa… pyaar hai, which was a runaway hit. She received the best debut award for her performance at many awards functions. Next came the hugely successful Gadar – ek prem katha. But this was followed by a string of flops. She was noticed again in the film Kya yehi pyaar hai starring Aftab Shivdasani. Then came Humraaz, which was a hit. This was followed by a phase of struggle which was a mix of flop and average films like Mangal Pandey, Tathastu, Aap ki khatir etc. But all of them were multi-starrers. She has also appeared in Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Bhool bhulaiyya and the recent Race 2. She has launched her production house called Ameesha Patel Productions. She will soon be seen in a movie opposite Sunny Deol. Her relationship with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and her rift with her parents and her brother Ashmit Patel caused many controversies in the media.

Rekha

Bhanurekha Ganesan, popularly known Rekha, is the daughter of veteran Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan and Telugu actress Pushpavalli. She started acting as a child artist in the Telugu film Rangul Ratnam in 1966. She was still a teenager when she entered Bollywood, her first film being Anjana Safar. Rekha had taken up acting due to financial circumstances and not for aspirations. Adjusting to Bombay was a big task for her. She was noticed in the film Sawan bhadon, which is generally regarded as her debut. Subsequently, she acted in several noteworthy movies like Rampur ka Lakshman, Kahani kismet ki, etc. Her personality and appearance underwent sea change in the Amitabh Bacchan starrer Do anjaane. Her first milestone in terms of acting was the film Ghar, opposite Vinod Mehra. Late 70s and 80s saw the rise of Rekha the superstar with hits like Muqadar ka sikandar, Khoobsurat, Ijaazat, Kalyug, Utsav, Silsila, etc. She is best known for her portrayal of Amiran in Umrao Jaan. In the 90s, she did more mature roles like in the films Kamasutra, Khiladiyon ke khiladi and Aastha. Then on she graduated to character roles, especially the role of Hrithik Roshan’s mother and grandmother in Koi Mil Gaya and Krissh. She has been honoured with Padma Shri Award and has been nominated as member of the Rajya Sabha. She was last seen in the film Super Nani. Rekha had a long-standing affair with Amitabh Bacchan. She was married to industrialist Mukesh Agarwal, who committed suicide. She lives in Mumbai.

Sanjay Khan

Sanjay Khan made his Hindi film debut in Chetan Anand’s Haqeeqat (1964). His second movie was Rajshri film’s Dosti. Some of the movies that he was part of were Dus Lakh, Ek Phool Do Mali and Intaqam. Sanjay Khan also acted along with his brother Feroz Khan in three films — Upaasna (1971), Mela (1971) and Nagin (1976). He was the scriptwriter for movies such as Chandi Sona (1977), Abdullah (1980) and Kala Dhanda Goray Log (1986). Sanjay Khan directed and starred in the very popular series The Sword of Tipu Sultan. He suffered mishap during the shoot. He also has to his credit the super successful TV-series Jai Hanuman (1997–2000), which he directed and produced. This popular drama which depicted the birth and childhood of Lord Hanuman for the first time in Indian television was able to capture the imagination of the mass and win the hearts of young and old alike. His daughter Suzanne Khan was married to Hrithik Roshan and his son is actor Zayed Khan.

Rakesh Roshan

Born Rakesh Roshan Lal Nagrath, Rakesh Roshan is an actor, director and producer. His acting career as a lead hero brought him films such as Paraya Dhan, Khoobsurat, Kaamchor, Ankhon ankhon mein and Hamari bahu Alka. His stint as a director was more successful with a hit debut Khudgarz. He went on to direct movies like Khoon bhari maang, Kishen Kanhaiya, Karan Arjun and Koyla. He launched his son Hrithik with Kaho na… pyaar hai, and made the sci-fi hits with him – Koi Mil Gaya, Krissh and Krissh 3. Rakesh Roshan suffered several setbacks in life, once when he was shot at by extortionists and more recently because of his son’s divorce. He is expected to start work on Judaai… matlab pyaar hai.
