Blame it on Bollywood if your girlfriend expects you to look into her eyes and say ‘Bade bade deshon mein, aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain’ or shoot several of such romantic dialogues from Hindi films every now and then. Bollywood films are filled with thousands of dialogues that can fit into almost every situation in a romantic relationship. Some of them went on to become so special that they became a part of our everyday lives. Actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor and a few others have had the fortune of delivering these onscreen and woo their audiences. On Valentine’s Day, we bring you some of the best romantic dialogues from Bollywood that make us fall in love all over again...
Jab Tak Hai Jaan was Yash Chopra’s last directorial movie and we had some really high hopes for it. While it could not do wonders at the box office, trust the Shah Rukh Khan – Yash Chopra jodi to bring out some real romance onscreen. This particular scene where Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan) says Har Ishq Ka Ek Waqt Hota Hai. Wo Hamara Waqt Nahi Tha, Par Iska Yeh Matlab Nahi Ki Wo Ishq Nahi Tha to Meera Thapar (Katrina Kaif )sure won our hearts and left us teary eyed.
Short and sweet, that’s how we describe Kareena Kapoor’s way to describe romance in Jab We Met. All she did was saying Jab Koi Pyaar Mein Hota Hai Toh Koi Sahi Galat Nahi Hota and that was enough for us to get it correct. When in love, nothing else matters.
When Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) makes Simran (Kajol ) realise that love isn’t everything by saying "Toh Kya Hua Agar Maine Jhooth Sirf Tumhe Paane Ke Liye Kaha Tha? Toh Kya Hua Agar Tumhare Chehre Ke Siwa Mujhe Koi Aur Chehra Dikhai Nahi Deta? Toh Kya Hua Agar Tumhare Naam Ke Siwa Mujhe Koi Aur Naam Yaad Nahi Rehta? Toh Kya Hua Agar yeh Aawara Tumhe Deewani Ki Tarah Pyaar Karta hai? To Kya Hua? Pyaar Sab Kuch Toh Nahi Hota simply won our hearts.
Aamir Khan could probably kill anyone and everyone with his dialogue baazi in Kunal Kohli’s Fanaa. A mere dialogue by Rehaan (Aamir Khan) Humse Door Jaoge Kaise, Dil Se Humein Bhulaoge Kaise, Hum Woh Khushboo Hain Jo Saanson Mein Baste Hain, Khud Ki Saanson Ko Rok Paaoge Kaise?" was enough for Zooni (Kajol) to fall in love with him for a lifetime.
This is my personal favourite. I still advise my guy friends to use the trick if they are getting mix signals from the girl of their choice. The way Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge says, Agar Woh Mujhse Pyaar Karti Hai, Toh Paltegi. Palat...Palat...Palat was enough for every Simran (Kajol) to fall for him.
Kabir Thapar (Ranbir Kapoor) aka Bunny is happy go lucky guy while Naina Talwar (Deepika Padukone) is a girl next door. She adores him but doesn’t make it obvious. However there comes a time when she can no longer hide her feelings and that’s when she says,Agar Tum Mujhe Yuhin Dekhte Rahoge, Toh Mujhe Tumse Pyaar Ho Jayega. Phir Se. Perfect dialogue, perfect delivery, kudos to DP for making the scene come alive onscreen!
Raanjhana was probably the weirdest love story ever witnessed by us on screen. While we love the character of Kundan (Dhanush), there comes a time when we even hate him. However, his love for Zoya is something that couldn’t be compared with anyone. The way he says Namaaz Mein Woh Thi, Par Laga Dua Hamari Manzoor Ho Gayi, is epic.
Vivaah made every girl believe that arrange marriage could be fun too and if you are lucky enough to get someone like Shahid Kapoor, then that’s like a cherry on the cake. Prem (Shahid Kapoor) and Rajni (Amrita Arora) are engaged and they have some months left for their marriage. This is when Prem’s sister-in-law makes Rajni understand the importance of these months. She simply says, Yeh Jo Sagaai Aur Shadi Ke Beech Ka Waqt Hota Hai Na, Bahut Adbhud Hota Hai."
Probably our favourite Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie till date – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam gave us Nandini and Sameer as two on-screen lovers who were destined to be together but fate had other plans for them. Sameer (Salman Khan) saying Agar Tum Mujhe Aise Hi Dekhti Rahogi, To Tumhe Mujhse Pyaar Ho Jayega to shy Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) made us fall for him and expecting that someday someone will say something similar to us.
Dil Chahta Hai is known as the cult film of Bollywood which was way ahead of that it’s time. Akash (Aamir Khan) who otherwise doesn’t believe in love, falls for Shalini (Preity Zinta) and decides to propose her on her D-day. He simply says, Mujhe Yakeen Hai Ki Main Sirf Isliye Janma Hoon Ki Tumse Pyaar Kar Sakun Aur Tum Sirf Isliye, Ki Ek Din Meri Ban Jaao; nothing great about that but seeing in front of her entire family needs guts.
