Shraddha Kapoor, who will be seen playing Haseena Parkar, the late sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in ‘Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai,’ has shared the first look of the film. It is for the first time that the actress has shed her next-door-girl image and will be seen playing an intense role. The first poster has Shraddha striking a fierce pose. Dressed in a black salwar kameez and sporting a large nose pin, Shraddha, in the kohl-eyed look, looks enticing.
For those not in the know, Haseena Parkar was the sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. After her husband Ismail Parkar was shot dead by the Arun Gawli gang in 1991, Haseena rose to the crime world and was soon taking charge of the crime scene in Mumbai. With most of her money coming from settling property and construction disputes, Haseena’s major source of income was extortion.
Haseena Parkar lived in the Nagpada area of Mumbai and was popularly known as ‘Godmother of Nagpada.’ To familiarise herself with the world of Haseena, Shraddha Kapoor roamed around Nagpada clad in a burqa. The actress also visited the house where Haseena lived. She also met the top city cops, Haseena’s school teacher and tailor to know more and more about her. Isn’t that enough for you to be eager about the film?
Shraddha Kapoor is indeed playing a challenging role in the film and it is for the first time, she will handle the entire film on her own. The fans of the actress have already come out in her support and are showering praises on the first look of the film. While some can’t stop praising Shraddha’s intense eyes, there are others who are calling her the female ‘Raees.’ We are sure Shraddha would be delighted with the response.
Stepping into Haseena Parkar’s shoes is a mammoth task for Shraddha Kapoor. The actress, in real life, is nowhere close to the world Haseena belonged to. In order to bring alive the character of the lady don, Shraddha is doing extensive research on her. She is also preparing to get her body language right. To look Haseena’s age, Shraddha will take help of prosthetic makeup. Reportedly, the costume designer of the film has sourced cloth material from the same shops Haseena used to buy them from. The makers are going all out to present Haseena’s story in as convincing way as possible.
