How SRK signed on Roshan’s film

We present an exclusive sneak peek of the graphic presentation of Always Kabhi Kabhi

Sometimes it takes more than a straight story narration to get a producer interested in a film project. Take the soon-to-be-launched film from Red Chillies Entertainment, for instance. Always Kabhi Kabhi is an adaptation of Roshan Abbas’ theatre play Graffiti. Before making it into a film, Roshan intended to bring out a graphic novel based on the play. “In between I had done sketches of the film, because at one point I wanted to make a graphic novel of it. I keep a track of teenagers. I love working with them. I had met a guy who made sketches for me. I had some locations in my mind. I had some looks in my mind.” Most of the drawings were ready even before the film went on the floors. But for now, the book is on hold. As Roshan, who is now in the middle of promotions of AKK, says, “The graphic novel might happen, but we have not discussed it yet.” When he met Shahrukh Khan to ask him to produce the film, he showed him the graphic presentation of the crucial scenes of the story. And he shared some of them with us...and you.
