Late superstar Rajesh Khanna’s estranged wife Dimple Kapadia immersed his ashes in the river Ganges in Rishikesh on July 25. The couple’s younger daughter Rinke Khanna accompanied her mother to Dehradun and then Rishikesh for the ritual. Elder daughter Twinkle Khanna, who is married to actor Akshay Kumar, could not make it because she is pregnant with her second child. Dimple performed some Hindu rituals before submerging Rajesh’s remains in the holy river.
Rajesh Khanna, famous as first real superstar of Indian cinema, passed away in Mumbai on July 18, 2012 due to prolonged illness. He was 69.
