Tamil cinema bagged five trophies at this year’s awards function

Kollywood has something to be proud of. Tamil cinema won five honours at this year’s 60th National Film Awards which were announced on Monday.

Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Vishwaroopam bagged two trohpies – one for the Best Art Director (Lalgudi N Ilayaraja) and the other one for the Best Choreography (Pandit Birju Maharaj).

Director Balaji Sakthivel’s Vazhakku Enn 18/9 was selected as the Best Tamil film, while Bala’s Paradesi won the award for the Best Costume Designer (Poornima Ramasamy). The best make-up artiste honour went to Vazhakku Enn (Raja).
