After Drishyam, Kamal Haasan to remake Mohanlal’s Peruchazhi?

The veteran actor Kamal Haasan is rumoured to have plans  to remake the Mohanlal’s yet to be released Peruchazhi in  Tamil

Mohanlal’s Peruchazhi has been generating a lot of positive buzz in the last one month. Peruchazhi starring Mohanlal and Mukesh is the first Malayalam film to be shot in USA for 30 day schedule. The teaser of the movie directed by Arun Vaidhyanathan and produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas, which was released on Mohanlal’s birthday received great response from fans.

The little birdie tells us that Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan has showed interest in Peruchazhi and has apparently bought the rights to remake the movie in Tamil. Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan are stalwarts of their film industries and the duo have great mutual respect for each other. Kamal Haasan, especially seems to be smitten by Mohanlal’s films. The Vishwaroopam  star is currently shooting for the Tamil remake of Mohanlal’s latest blockbuster Drishyam.

The rumour mills have spread the word that Kamal Haasan is more than keen to remake Peruchazhi, which is a political sattire. The film is also expected to be remade in Hindi with Sanjay Dutt in the lead role. There has been no confirmation from makers of Peruchazhi or Kamal Haasan yet.

With Kamal Haasan showing interest in the film, Peruchazhi seems to be at the helm of an another record of giving away the remake rights even before the movie hit the screens. Now that’s what you call Mohanlal magic!
