Being his 50th film, Ajith Kumar is giving his all to ensure that Mankatha becomes a milestone in his career
Director Venkat Prabhu is shooting the final stages of Mankatha in at Hyderabad. Giving himself a George Clooney kind of look, Thala, as Ajith is known amongst his fans, is working wonders at his characterisation in the movie which is reportedly based on a mafia involved in betting on cricket. But, you never know the final outcome of the movie as Prabhu is known to keep the crucial sequences of his movies close to his chest. A galaxy of stars is part of the film, including heroine Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun and Premji Amaren.
As a first marketing effort for the music of Mankatha, a single, Vilayadu Makatha was released. Already a youth anthem of the year, the single composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja is written by Venkat Prabhu’s father, Gangai Amaren. “The song was shot at a club in Bangkok, with two hundred and fifty extras and fifty dancers from Mumbai, Chennai and Bangkok. The album contains nine tracks all together, which includes a re-mix, theme music and a promo song. We are very confident Mankatha will be the best album of this year. Mankatha is in its final stage of shoot in Hyderabad, where we are shooting a massive action sequence. This action sequence will be the most talked about sequence in Tamil cinema. Ajith has taken a lot of risk by doing the stunts himself, which is choreographed by Selva. Art director Videsh is erecting a very huge set on the highways for another action sequence between Ajith and Action King Arjun,” says Venkat Prabhu.
