South Indian actor Amala was born on October 26, 1991
It’s a big day for Amala Paul today, for the actor turns 21. And there’s plenty to celebrate, besides the milestone birthday. This year, she had back-to-back releases, most of which have tasted box-office success – in Tamil, there was Vettai, in which she starred opposite Arya, the teen caper Kaadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi with Siddharth and Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal. In Telugu, she had Love Failure. Amala Paul’s Malayalam films this year have been Akashathinte Niram, her first art house project, and Run Babby Run opposite Mohanlal, a dream opportunity for any young actor for sure. The film was critically acclaimed and a commercial success as well.
On her birthday, the actor has thanked everyone who supported her and says she wants to establish herself as an artiste who can do any kind of role. “I have been recognised as an actor, only thanks to my directors, producers, co-stars and of course, fans. Without their support, this would not have been possible,” says the birthday girl, who’s spending the day with her parents and other family members.
Amala is currently working on Nimirndhu Nil in Tamil, besides Janda Pai Kapiraju, Iddarammayilatho and Naayak in Telugu. Told you, she has plenty to celebrate! This young gal from Ernakulam has indeed done very well for herself . She took a break after high school to try her luck in films, but went back to college to pursue an arts degree; she’s currently in her third year, and juggles films and academics quite efficiently. Amala had no beginner’s luck for her early films, after she was noticed by Malayalam director Lal Jose and given a supporting role in Neelathamara, went largely unnoticed. Her role in the controversial Sindhu Samaveli didn’t help either, instead earned public outrage.
Then, along came Mynaa, by Prabhu Solomon and Amala Paul’s fortune changed overnight. She won critical acclaim for her role and the offers began to flow in. She did the Malayalam remake of Naadodigal and then signed Deiva Thirumagal and Bejawada which starred Naga Chaitanya. She has not looked back since and is well on her way to stardom at the age of 21. Here’s wishing this pretty girl a very happy birthday.
