The Bollywood megastar successfully urged the Tollywood superstar to reconsider his decision to stop acting
Fans of Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi can breathe easy now. Amidst reports of the star’s decision to retire from films, comes the news that Amitabh Bachchan has convinced Chiru to go ahead with his 150th movie that will be produced by his son Ram Charan Teja.
Chiru had announced his retirement at a press meet recently. “Since I am busy with politics, it would not be appropriate for me to don the greasepaint again. My son Charan is there to fill the gap,” Chiru had said during the launch of UTV Action channel in Telugu. While his legions of fans were stunned into silence, son Teja used a micro-blogging website to express his angst. “I dreamt of doing a song like ‘Kajra Re’ with dad. I really envy Abhishek Bachchan who has acted with his dad in so many movies,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
That’s when the Big B stepped in. At the premiere of his latest release Bbuddha Hoga Terra Baap (BHTB) in Hyderabad, Amitabh met Chiranjeevi and convinced him to continue acting while simultaneously pursuing his political ambitions. A beaming Chiranjeevi announced to his fans at the multiplex last night that he would indeed don grease paint for a movie to be directed by Puri Jagannadh, who incidentally wielded the megaphone for BHTB.
