Arbaaz Khan to act in ‘Chhatrapathi’

The Dabangg actor will play the villain in the Siddhanth-starrer

With Dabangg 2 still in the scripting stages, its producer Arbaaz Khan has some time on his hands. And what better way to use that time than planning a new project? So Salman Khan’s younger brother has now decided to restart his acting career – albeit in Sandalwood.

Arbaaz will be making his debut in the Kannada film industry with Dinesh Gandhi’s Chhatrapathi. The movie is a remake of the eponymous Telugu flick starrring Prabha and Shriya Saran and directed by SS Rajamouli. Gandhi acquired the rights for the movie, which has already been remade in Malayalam and dubbed in Hindi. The Kannada version will star Siddhanth in the lead and it was the director’s search for a handsome villain that took him all the way to Mumbai. We hear Arbaaz immediately gave his consent to the role and has started taking some lessons in basic Kannada so that he gets the nuances of the language right before he starts shooting in September.
