Producers of Idhudhanda Police- 2 claim only they have the rights to remake Bollywood movie Risk
Action King Arjun’s forthcoming film Maasi, which was expected to hit the screens this weekend, might not be able to do so, thanks to a stay order from Hyderabad City Civil Court. The producers of Idhudhanda Police- 2 have taken offence at the movie.
Says Y Surender Reddy, the producer of Idhudhanda Police- 2, “I had acquired the south remake rights of the Bollywood film, Risk (starring Randeep Hooda, Vinod Khanna and Tanushree Dutta) and based my Idhudhanda Police – 2 on it. Our film, starring Dr Rajashekar and directed by his wife Jeevitha, is simultaneously being made in Tamil and Telugu. Recently, we learnt that almost 75 per cent of the scenes in the Arjun-starrer Maasi, directed by Kicha, are similar to that of Risk, for which we have got the rights.”
Latest reports confirm that Arjun has filed a complaint with the Nadigar Sangam and has requested them to sort out the issue. Looks like stars need to familiarise themselves with the originals before they agree to work in remakes!
