Settai, the Tamil version of the controversial film Delhi Belly promises to keep the audience on tenterhooks
Director R Kannan recently announced that Settai will have no expletives, but vows to make the romantic sequences between Arya and Hansika Motwani sizzling enough to leave the audience asking for more. Rumour has it that Arya will lock lips and share steamy bedroom scenes with both Hansika and Anajli. Ahem…ahem!
The director says that the passionate sequences are a requirement of the script and are important to establish the intimacy between the characters, but he hopes to shoot it all aesthetically. How clichéd! Kannan wants a UA certificate for the film, and to make it viewable even for kids. If you remember, Delhi Belly had an A-certificate for its rather adult content. Kannan, who earlier directed the Tamil version of Jab We Met (Kanden Kadhalai), chose to leave out the liplock scene in that film to avoid vulgarity. The director now intends to shoot the lovemaking scene between his lead actors, but he claims that it will be very different from the Hindi version. Now that’s seems like a big challenge, no?
