Tollywood’s megastar Chiranjeevi was born on 22nd August 1955
Megastar Chiranjeevi may not be fully immersed in films as he once was. But this birthday will be a filmi affair with bro Pawan Kalyan releasing the first teaser of his upcoming flick Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu as a birthday gift to Megastar Chiranjeevi on August 22. The teaser will be unveiled as part of the birthday celebrations at the Annapurna Studios. Tamannaah plays the female lead in the movie directed by Puri Jagannath.
Chiranjeevi, who has been gracefully slowing down his pace in Tollywood, can look back at a career studded with achievements, which has won him the title of Megastar and a vast number of fans. Starting in the late eighties, he has starred in such acclaimed films as Rudraveena and Muta Mesthri. He has had a few misses, but has always come back with good films. In early 2000 he had the super hit Annayya and then went on to act in films like Tagore and Shankardada MBBS. In 2009, he made a guest appearance in son Ram Charan’s blockbuster Magadheera. Last year, Chiru won the lifetime achievement award.
His is a full life, what with his philanthropic activities and full-time political career. Chiranjeevi, who launched the Praja Rajyam Party in 2008, merged it with the Congress last year and is now also a Rajya Sabha member.
On the family front, son Ram Charan got married earlier this year. So, it’s a happy contented birthday for Chiranjeevi as he turns 57 today.
