Chiranjeevi’s son, Ram Charan Teja has a lavish engagement on live television

Son of actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi and Tollywood’s young sensation, Ram Charan Teja got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Kamineni Upasana

Ram Charan and Kamineni had a lavish engagement ceremony at a farm house on Thursday night. For the first time in India, an engagement was telecast live on television. The engagement brought together two most well-known families of Andhra Pradesh.  Upasana is the grand daughter of Pratap C Reddy, Chairman of Apollo Hospitals.  Politicians, film stars and prominent personalities from various walks of life attended the ceremony held at ‘Temple Trees’ farmhouse of the Reddy family amid tight security arrangements.  The rituals were performed with the chanting of Vedic hymns by a group of priests. It was followed by song and dance programme. Flowers were specially flown in from Thailand for the ceremony. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Speaker N Manohar, union minister of state D Purandareshwari, Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, ministers, leaders of various political parties, veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Murali Mohan and others attended the glittering ceremony. If just the engagement was this lavish, we wonder how extravagant the wedding would be!
