A Chennai Court will deliver its verdict on the case filed against Vijay’s upcoming film Thuppakki, today, October 5.

When the case came up for hearing on Wednesday, the court posted it for Friday. Expressing hope that the film would overcome this legal hurdle, its director AR Murugadoss wrote on his microblogging page: “Friends, it’s a lot of people’s hard work and a huge investment. Please be patient and we will sort it out and come out with good news.” The case against Thuppakki was filed by the makers of a movie titled Kalla Thupakki. In their petition, they had alleged that the title Thuppakki was unlawfully registered by its producers.

Starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles, the film produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu has music by Harris Jayaraj. The movie is expected to hit the screens for Deepavali.
