The actor says the celebrations will begin once the superstar comes back home

For Dhanush, who started off with a sterling performance in Kadhal Kondein, the National Award for Best Actor, for his performance in Aadukalam (Tamil) comes as a pleasant reminder of what he is capable of. The news reached him while he was updating the press on his father-in-law Rajinikanth’s medical condition. Dhanush promptly dedicated the award to the ailing superstar, who has been admitted to the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Chennai. “I dedicate this award to the speedy recovery of my father-in-law and superstar Rajinikanth sir,” Dhanush told reporters. “We are all waiting for the moment he comes back home; we will celebrate this then.”

He said he owed it to Aadukalam director Vetrimaran, who was adjudged the Best Director for the same film. Dhanush shares the award with Malayalam actor Salim Kumar.

Before becoming Superstar Mappilai (son-in-law of the superstar), Dhanush registered great commercial success with his first three movies and was projected by most critics and trade analysts as the next big thing in Kollywood. However, his career took a dive with the flops that followed. He returned in a big way with Pudupettai (2006) and enjoyed much success since then.
