Drishyam scares Ram Gopal Varma!

It is rumoured that RGV has held the release of his film by a day to avoid competition

Drishyam seems to be the film uniting all four major Southern film industries. After Kannada remake saw the light last month, Telugu remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam, also titled as Drishyam, is gearing for release this weekend.  Earlier Ram Gopal Varma had announced that his horror film Ice Cream will hit the screens on same day as Drishyam ie July 11. It was supposed to be a big clash at the box office, but ever unpredictable RGV has given a new twist to the tale.

The ace filmmaker has now postponed the release of Ice Cream by a day for reasons unknown to media. The horror film has been publicised for Tejaswi Madivada‘s nude scene and new flow cam technology used in the film. We could have understood if RGV had postponed his film by a week or so. It would also have been a wise move considering Ramu’s last horror flick Bhoot Returns was a disaster at box office and clashing with a big film like Drishyam is not advisable. But RGV left everyone baffled by putting off the release just by one day.

We wonder if Ice Cream needs some last minute finishing touches or is it just another RGV publicity trick to turn media’s spotlight from Drishyam to his film. Whatever be the case, RGV has managed to grab our attention yet again.
