The trailer sans action and item songs, looks very real and little raw at times
After thundering success of Drishyam in Malyalam and Kannada box office, Venkatesh starrer Telugu remake of Drishyam is gearing for release this weekend. Venkatesh would be seen reprising the role of Mohanlal from Malayalam original while Meena plays his wife. The trailer of the much awaited film is doing good over the internet.
Ahead of the release, Bollywoodlife tells you the triumphs and the pitfalls of Drishyam trailer:
What’s hot: The simplicity of the trailer is the first thing you notice about the film. Venkatesh has shed his starry avatar and seems to be playing a common man in the film. Meena, as Venkatesh‘s wife, looks apt for the role and the duo share a happy husband-wife chemistry onscreen. The makers of Drishyam are to be lauded to make a brave yet simple film without any of the usual stuff which we often find in Telugu cinema.
What’s not: The film has been treated rather too simplistically, giving a raw feel to it. The background score is too loud, jarring at times giving it a TV soap kind of texture. The production values seem to be low, which might not go down well with crowd who are used to seeing big budget, glossy flicks. The trailer indicates that the film may be little high on melodrama.
