The Tollywood-Kollywood babe Hansika Motwani was born on August 9, 1991

Hansika Motwani will be celebrating more than just her 21st birthday today. The last year has been hugely successful for this young actor. First, there was the hit film Velayudham in which she was cast opposite Vijay and in Engeyum Kaadhal alongside Jayam Ravi. But the film that really sent her soaring high was the super-duper success and comedy caper Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, which marked the debut of Udhayanidhi Stalin as hero. The babe who made her entry into Tamil films with the Dhanush-starrer Maappillai in 2011 has come a long way indeed.

In fact, the move to the South has been a wise move for the actor. Hansika, who began in showbiz as a child artiste, bagged roles in Bollywood productions such as Aap ka Suroor and Money Hai Tho Honey Hai, but it is after her Telugu debut Desamuduru in 2007 that she’s joined the big league. Coming up next are Vettai Mannan and Vaalu with Simbu and Settai with Arya. What’s more she’s also bagged a role in Singam 2 with Suriya.
