The movie is rumoured to be shelved due to financial problems between PVP Cinemas and Selvaraghavan
There is some bad news for Silambarasan aka Simbu aka STR who has been in the limelight for his Casanova image. A little birdie tells us that STR’s collaboration with director Selvaraghavan has been put on hold.
The film which was tentatively titled as Alaivarisai, produced by PVP Cinemas, was supposed to star Simbu-Trisha under the direction of Selvaraghavan. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who had parted ways with the Selvaraghavan years ago due to creative differences, was supposed to team up again with the director.
Apparently, PVP cinemas are having second thoughts on producing this film and it is said that the movie is being shelved due to financial problems. The last outing of PVP Cinemas with Selvaraghavan, Irandam Ulagam failed to make an impact at the box office.
PVP Cinemas, who had put a lot at stake on Selvaraghavan’s Irandam Ulagam incurred a heavy loss, which might have led the producers to reconsidering their stand on the Simbu-Trisha starrer. Trisha, who was saving the dates for the film has now given her commitment for the Ajith-Gautham Menon film.
With Simbu and Trisha being paired together for the second time, the movie under the direction of the famous Selvaraghavan, who is known for his iconic visualization, was expected to generate a lot of interest in the K-town. But with the movie now being put in the back-burner, looks like Simbu and Selvaraghavan’s chances to revive their fortunes are bleak.
