Born on May 20,1983 to yesteryear Telugu superstar and then chief minister of Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao. With NTR’s filmi connection, it came as no surprise when Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Junior aka Jr NTR, the grandson of the legendary NTR, made his onscreen debut as a child artist in Ramayanam in 1997.
For a meager remuneration of rupees 4 lakh, the star who is also an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer returned back to silver screen as a hero in the film Ninnu Chudalani in 2001. Though the movie flopped at the box office, Junior NTR didn’t get disheartened and struck gold with SS Rajamouli’s Student No 1. The film went on be blockbuster hit of 2001 and made him the youth icon of Andhra Pradesh.
The 23-film-old Jr NTR is famous for for his terrific dance moves. Basking on the decent success of his last venture Ramayya Vasthavayya, the Simhadri star is all set to for his next big release Rabhasa. The actor has romanced a number of heroines onscreen from Charmy Kaur to the latest sensation Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
The star has kept him self away from politics, but is bound to be sucked into his grandfather’s party TDP in future. The actor had also survived a terrible road accident while campaigning for TDP in 2009. With his actor uncle Balakrishna elected as MLA in recently concluded elections, it will be worth to see when Jr NTR decides to follow his uncle’s footsteps.
