The actor-director is likely to meet the Tamil Nadu CM seeking her suggestions for an amicable solution
Following this, it is learnt that Kamal has sought an appointment with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. “After meeting the CM, he will also hold meetings with Muslim groups which have launched protests against the film,” sources said.
The Tamil Nadu government banned the film’s release for two weeks, after Muslim associations alleged that the movie hurt their religious sentiments and it would cause religious disharmony.
Meanwhile, a fresh public interest petition (PIL) was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court yesterday by Mohammed Haji, seeking a ban on Vishwaroopam. The petitioner requested the court to direct Kamal Haasan as well as the Broadcasting Corporation of India, Central Board of Film Certification and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to stop screening the film.
