Kochadaiiyaan versus Manam at the theatres this Friday!

Gear up for a super Friday as two biggies at the box office battle it out on May 23

On one side of the ring we have superstar Rajinikanth’s animated magnum opus Kochadaiiyaan, India’s first photo realistic motion capture film and the other side of the is the late legendary actor ANR’s final film Manam featuring big names like ANR, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, Shriya Saran and Samantha. While the Rajini-Deepika starer is a 3D animated period war film, Nagarjuna’s Manam is a comedy drama film  which brings three generations of Akkineni’s together for the first  and last time.  The million dollar question is who’s gonna win this bout?

This Friday, two of the biggest films down south Kochadaiiyaan and Manam are hitting the silver screens simultaneously. While the trade experts are busy predicting which film will emerge as a winner, the fans are surely in for a starry treat.

Thalaiva‘s Kochadaiiyaan has been in the news – be it for its esteemed star cast or for its music and animation or then simply Rajinikanth! Recently, after creating a fan frenzy, the makers of Kochadaiiyaan disappointed the folks around the world when they delayed their May 9 release to May 23 at the nth minute. But if you thought the delay would kill the buzz for the Rajini’s first animated flick, then you were wrong. We hear that a multiplex in Chennai is releasing a monumental 100 shows in a  day for Thalaiva’s Kochadaiiyaan!

Manam has not been far behind in terms of publicity and marketing as the makers have hit the right note amongst the masses with the trailer, songs and trivia of the movie, all doing extremely well. The film will benefit greatly as the demise of the legendary ANR means an emotional connect. Nagarjuna has left no stones unturned for promoting the film which is touted to be a family entertainer. With big star cast and the ANR-Nagarjuna-Naga Chaitanya sharing the screen, the film is expected to pull large crowds.

It is true that Kochadaiiyaan and Manam are in two different languages, but the Telugu version of Kochadaiiyaan, Vikramasimha, should not be taken lightly. Given the popularity of Rajinikanth, one expects Vikramasimha to be a great threat to Manam. In between all this commotion, Jai-Nazariya starer Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah is also releasing on May 23.

Kochadaiiyaan aka Vikramasimha will attract a large numbers  with its  high octane action, photo realistic animation and of course Rajinikanth’s charisma.  Manam is set to pull the crowd with its family subject, ANR’s last onscreen appearance and the coming together of three Akkineni’s. Will Kocahdaiiyaan  effect show on Manam‘s box office collections or will Manam manage to capture the hearts ahead of Kochadaiiyaan? Or will Jai-Nazariya’s Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah will emerge as dark horse at box office this weekend? Let the fight begin.Subscribe to me on YouTube
