Is it because shooting was delayed? Or is it the Eid factor?
Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Dookudu was scheduled to hit theatres mid-August but the release has been postponed by two to three weeks. Apparently it was the delay in shooting that led to the postponement. However, industry insiders claim that filmmakers shifted the release date to take advantage of the Eid festival earnings. The makers fear that many devout Muslims may stay away from theatres during the holy month of Ramadan and return only after Eid, which falls on August 31. Shoot for major portions of the film was wrapped up recently and only the songs remain to be canned. The producers also postponed the audio launch of Dookudu from August 7 to August 11. Our sources tell us that the producers are looking to release the movie on August 31 in order to cash in on the festival and weekend crowds.
