Director Rosshan Andrrew had earlier announced his ambitious project, Mumbai Police with Prithviraj opposite Tamil star Arya
If reports are to be believed, the Big M of Mollywood, Mammootty has replaced the young star Prithviraj as the lead in Mumbai Police. Though none of the stakeholders have confirmed this, reliable sources swear that the young star has been replaced by the ageless megastar. Rosshan had announced the film earlier with Prithviraj had set the film to go on floors by June 2011. At that time Rosshan was still busy giving finishing touches to his Mohanlal starrer Casanovva, which is set to hit the theatres soon. According to rumours, Prithviraj, who seemed very excited at the opportunity to work in the action thriller pulled out of the project due to prior commitments and delays. The actor is now busy finishing his schedule with Johnny Antony for Masters and since Rosshan planned to start working on Mumbai Police right after the release of Casanovva, the dates of both the films clashed and Prithvi had no option but to opt for Masters. While the industry is abuzz with rumours of Mammootty replacing Prithviraj, no official confirmation has been given out yet.
