The South actor has taken ill again, but stays upbeat even as she’s on a six-month break for treatment
Mamta Mohandas is a cancer survivor and has demonstrated a strong will and resilience ever since she was diagnosed with the disease in 2010. Now the actor has, unfortunately, suffered a relapse and has taken a break from acting for six months.
“At times a follow-up can show residual/resistant disease which needs to be treated. So this too shall pass. Thank you for the concern and support,” she wrote on her microblogging page.
Originally from Mollywood, Mamta became popular in Kollywood with her roles in Sivappathikaram and Guru En Aalu. Her last flick in Tamil was Thadaiyara Thaakka opposite Arun Vijay.
When she was diagnosed with cancer three years ago, she fought the disease with determination and guts. She bounced back in a short span of time and inspired lots of people. Here’s wishing Mamta a speedy recovery.
