Mani Ratnam announces his bilingual, ‘Kadal’

The maestro filmmaker’s last bilingual outing Raavan in Hindi and Tamil did not fare well at the box office. This year Mani Ratnam has planned to make another bilingual titled Kadal

Mani Ratnam has announced his next film on the life of fisherfolk called Kadal (sea). The bilingual will be shot in Tamil and Telugu and will have Gautham and Samantha Prabhu as the main leads. Interestingly, it will also see Aravind Swamy of Roja and Bombay fame making a comeback. The first schedule of the romantic film will be held in Andaman for a month where important scenes and a few song sequences will be shot. Other actors who are set to grace the screen for this film are Arjun Sarja, Thambi Ramiah and Lakshmi Manchu.

The music of the film will be by AR Rahman; Rajiv Menon will handle the cinematography and editing will be by Sreekar Prasad. The film already seems like a big budget project for Madras Talkies and we are sure Ratnam’s fans are eagerly waiting for the director’s next creation.Subscribe to me on YouTube
