Mani Ratnam sues Kadal distributor for Rs 5 crores

After protests and complaints against him by distributors for the losses they allegedly suffered due to Kadal, it seems it’s now Mani Ratnam’s turn to take them on legally

Mani Ratnam, the ace director, has filed a case against Kadal distributor Mannan, claiming Rs 5 crores for the damage that he has caused to his reputation.

“We have registered the case for the defamatory remarks and complaint Mannan has made against the filmmaker. Mani Ratnam cannot be held responsible for the distributors’ losses since he has sold the worldwide rights of the film to another company,” said Mani’s lawyer Abudu Kumar.

It may be recalled that the Madras High Court a couple of days ago restrained Mannan from entering Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies office or residence.
