‘Mankatha’ roars in the UK, Malaysia, Singapore

The Ajith starrer has been received very well abroad. Will it break the record set by Rajinikanth in Robot and Salman Khan in Bodyguard?

Thala Ajith’s 50th film Mankatha has received rave reviews and it has translated into good collections at the box office, not only in India, but also in the UK, Malaysia and Singapore. The actor has been highly appreciated for his first-time negative role in a major film, and his fans are delighted to see him in a new avatar. If reports are to be believed, Mankatha has broken all opening day records and falls behind only Rajinikanth’s Robot.On the day of release, the UK collections stood at £110,000. In Chennai, too, five days after release, the average theatre occupancy was 95 percent and collections stood at Rs 1,79,35,278 from 774 shows. Well, looks like the Eid release has been lucky for Ajith, just like for Salman Khan’s Bodyguard in Bollywood!
