The actor’s fans want to see him in a full-fledged role, not in the guest appearance he is rumoured to have in Blessy’s film
It is a well-known fact that superstar Mohanlal wanted director Blessy’s Pranayam to be his 300th film and was all geared up to release it around the Eid-Onam festival season. However, his legion of fans are upset about this and have made it very clear to the star that they want a more powerful film to commemorate the milestone.
Sources close to the actor’s fan club in Thiruvananthapuram revealed that they have given feedback to the star about Pranayam and believe that the movie does not really fit the bill of being ‘Mohanlal’s 300th film’. They’ve instead asked their beloved Lal-ettan to consider ace director Sathyan Anthikad’s movie for his 300th release. Reports are that Mohanlal only has a special appearance in Blessy’s movie, while the fans would like to see him essay a full-fledged role in a mass entertainer. Our sources also tell us that delaying Blessy’s project and allowing Sathyan’s as-yet-untitled film to release earlier could also be a safety measure initiated by the actor and his well-known publicist, Anthony Perumbavoor. Given that this director has an assured family viewership, Mohanlal may just be playing it safe and ensuring that his 300th movie is not a dud.
