The Fashion actor will star in a bilingual film based on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni
With south Indian films taking over Bollywood, it’s only natural that our Bollywood celebs too feel an irresistible urge to make a southern foray. It’s not that Hindi cinema talent has never trickled to south. It is just that the trend has picked up tremendous pace. It seems much more mutual now with southern stars and directors finding prominence in Bollywood, too. The latest to jump on the boat to south is Bollywood’s daring and baring actor Mugdha Godse. The actress who is only a handful of films old in Bollywood is now planning to woo the Telugu audience to gather the momentum her career is lacking. This all started when Mugdha was recently approached by actor-director Prakash Raj’s wife-choreographer Pony Varma, a close buddy of the 25-year-old actor, to play the female lead in his second directorial venture, Dhoni, which is based on a child’s aspiration to ape Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The movie will be a big boost to Mugdha’s career as it will be simultaneously made in Tamil. The film will have Ilaiyaraaja’s marvellous musical touch to add to its sports themed story.
