Mumbai recreated in Chennai for Vijay’s next flick

As many as 500 carpenters worked hard to recreate Mumbai’s busy Mahim area for the actor yet-to-be titled Tamil action-thriller

The first schedule of Vijay‘s upcoming film, being directed by AL Vijay, is over. The 60-day schedule took place in some of the busiest areas of Mumbai.“We will begin working on the second schedule of the film from this month. A Mahim area set was recently completed by 500 carpenters under the supervision of art director Nagaraj,” director AL Vijay said in a statement. Since Mumbai is the backdrop of the movie, the second schedule too has to be shot there. However, due to some practical difficulties, a grand set resembling Mahim area in the business capital of India is being erected in Chennai.

Art Director Nagaraj and his team are said to be working day and night to erect the set. More than 1000 junior artistes are expected to attend the second schedule shoot.

The film features Amala Paul, Sathyaraj and Ponvannan in pivotal roles, apart from Vijay. Produced by Chandraprakash Jain, it will mostly be shot in Spain. It has music by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by Nirav Shav.
