Naga Chaitanya’s high-voltage entertainer Bejawada is set to storm the theatres on November 3. The movie is based on Vijayawada’s criminal outfits in the 1990s. Sources say the young actor is playing the role of a student leader, who stands up against organised crime in the city. Doesn’t it ring a bell? Naga Chaitanya’s dad Akkineni Nagarjuna had done a similar role in Shiva, directed by Ram Gopal Varma. But public memory is short and there is a new generation unaware of Nagarjuna’s heroics in the film. Amala Paul is the heroine in Bejawada and the film’s final schedule is progressing at a brisk pace. The film is being directed by Ram Gopal Varma’s associate Vivek Krishna. RGV and Koneru Kiran Kumar are producing the movie under the banner of Shreya Productions.
