BO success and a National Award have the film’s makers partying hard

The Puttakkana Highway team is ecstatic with the success of the film – not only did it run to packed houses, but also won the National Film Award for Best Regional Film in Kannada this year. Producers Prakash Raj, Shylaja Nag and director B Suresha admitted that they were surprised at the film’s success, and the positive response it got from the critics, the multiplex audience and the masses. Female lead Shruthi said, “I have worked in Tamil film Kalki with Prakash Raj and it won the state award. Now, the second film has won a National Award and I eagerly look forward to a hattrick.” Prakash Raj in turn praised Suresha and gave him all the credit for the movie’s resounding success. After Naanu Nanna Kanasu, this is the second good movie from the same team. Will they continue making meaningful films? We’ll have to wait and watch.
