The superstar is all set to start work on the film in September
The King is back. Rajinikanth is set to resume shooting for his magnum opus Rana from September 2011. After a high-profile mahurat, the movie was in cold storage as Rajini had to undergo treatment in Singapore. For the next two months, Rajinikanth’s health made more news than the movie and the superstar used to communicate to his fans via his daughters Soundarya and Aishwarya, and son-in-law Dhanush. But now, everything is fine again and he is ready to resume shooting.Rana features Rajinikanth in a triple role with three leading ladies. The movie, which began as an animation venture by Soundarya’s company, became bigger when the Superstar himself evinced interest in essaying the larger-than-life role. Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone and ‘brother-in-arms’ Amitabh Bachchan are slated to appear in the movie, though the latter is reportedly only making a guest appearance. Rajini even called Deepika recently to assure her that the movie will start rolling very soon, thus ensuring that the actress was available on call. Additionally, the superstar was also reported to be in constant touch with director KS Ravikumar, lyricist Vairamuthu and music director AR Rahman.
