Rajinikanth’s Lingaa signs up Hollywood action man Lee Whittaker

The Hollywood stunt director joins the long list of celebrities in Lingaa bandwagon

After the performance capture avatar seen in Kochadaiiyaan, Rajinikanth fans will get to see their Thalaivar performing some world class action stunts in Lingaa. Director KS Ravikumar has signed up Hollywood action director and stunt co-ordinator Lee Whittaker for Lingaa and he is already in India, working closely in tandem with cinematographer Ratnavelu.

Ratnavelu and Whittaker are using a unique combination of high-speed cameras in conjunction with Stereovision, a technology hitherto unused in India, to create Rajinikanth action sequences that will see him perform stunts that belie his 63 years.

Whittaker is no stranger to Indian cinema. Rajinikanth’s old friend Kamal Haasan signed him on for Vishwaroopam and its sequel, and he’s also worked on Ajith starrer Arrambam. His Hollywood credits include the Percy Jackson movies, Fast Five, Live Free Or Die Hard, Pearl Harbour and Jurassic Park 3.

With the addition of a technician of the calibre of Whittaker, Rajinikanth’s fans will only fuel their already raging fire of anticipation. Lingaa also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Shetty and will feature an item number from Nayanthara.

Meanwhile, Kochadaiiyaan has grossed more than Rupees 53 crore and continues to show strong legs in South India, while disappointing in the North.
