The buxx in the industry is that Ram Charan Teja will play his father’s role in the remake of Chiranjeevi’s 1983-hit Khaidi. Teja, who is scouting for a convincing hit after the thumping success of Magadheera, has been reading scripts and attending photo shoots for quite some time now. Sources say he is planning to play it safe and opt for the remake as his next venture. The flick made Chiranjeevi an overnight Superstar and sensation in Tollywood.
Ram Charan Teja has reportedly given his nod for the project, provided the “rewritten script” suits his image and is also worthy of audience appreciation. Sources say the film may go on the floors by December 2011. Khaidi is the tale of a farmer, who takes revenge on the feudal lord responsible for killing his family. We’ll have to wait and watch to know how the makers will repackage the film to suit current audience tastes.
