Divya Spandana aka Ramya has filed nomination papers for booth level elections
Politics is a new playing field for actors. After portraying politicians onscreen some took up the political ‘greasy pole’ in real life too. The likes of Ambareesh, Chiranjeevi and Vijaykanth believe, sometimes erroneously, that their fan clubs can be their vehicle to a political career. The latest to join the bandwagon is Ramya, who has filed nomination papers for booth level elections of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) in Karnataka. She filed her papers for the Shantinagar block in Bangalore for which elections would be held later this week. We wonder what made Ramya change her mind as it was barely a fortnight ago that she hotly denied reports of wanting to contest elections. “Yes. I am contesting for the booth-level elections that will be held on September 16. As part of the Youth Congress, I am looking at making use of this platform to serve the people and make a difference to society,” she says. The actor claims that it was her desire to bring about positive change that made her file for elections and it has nothing to do with the fact that no good offers are not coming her way. We believe you Ramya, but you still have to prove that you can indeed be the change that you expect from society.
