RGV’s ‘Bezawada’ faces Telangana ire

Even after rechristening the fillm, activists stalled the shoot of the Naga Chaitanya starrer

Ram Gopal Varma has now managed to court another row. The shooting of his latest venture, Naga Chaitanya starrer Bezawada, was stopped in the outskirts of Hyderabad by Telangana activists recently. The project, which was earlier titled Bezawada Rowdeelu, had created a furore as it allegedly was a slur on the city of Vijayawada (Bezawada in Telugu).  The director had to finally remove the ‘Rowdeelu’ from the name. The film returned to sets and the shoot was going on swiftly until troubles began again. On a weekend, the unit was planning to can an action sequence in a government college in the city. As the shoot began, Telangana activists stormed the sets saying studies of students have been hit by the shooting in the campus. The unit finally had no choice but to move to a nearby village and shoot other scenes. Hopefully, RGV can finish the movie in time, as its online trailers are getting tremendous response.
