In their next film together, Podaa Podi
Shobhana, the quintessential ‘apsara’ of south cinema, will now showcase her dancing skills on screen. The National Award-winning actor has been signed to play a danseuse in Vignesh Siva’s next venture Podaa Podi.She will be seen teaching the nuances of dance to the female lead Varalakshmi, daughter of thespian Sarat Kumar. We expect Shobhana to enact her role with ease, as in real life too, she is a dance teacher and has founded a school to teach classical Bharatnatyam in Chennai. Silambarasan has agreed to play the male lead opposite Varalakshmi. The movie has already generated much hype following reports that art director Ute Bergk, who helped bring Gotham city to life in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, will design the sets of Podaa Podi.
