The widely publicised superstar Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa is running on full steam and is expected to hit the screens this year
Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin’s magnum opus Kochadaiiyaan not only saw Superstar Rajinikanth’s animated debut but it also gave the fans to witness Thalaiva magic onscreen after four long years. His last films Enthiran released in 2010 broke all box office record and was declared a worldwide hit. Since then the quintessential style icon of Indian cinema had distanced himself from the limelight.
The latest we hear is that KS Ravikumar helmed Lingaa starring Rajinikanth-Sonakshi Sinha-Anushka Shetty will be ready to light up the 70 mm screen this Diwali. The makers of Lingaa – Kannada producer Rockline Venkatesh seems to be in mood to cash in on recent success of Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan. A little birdie tells us that even the Thalaiva wants Lingaa to enthrall the audience during this festive season. Apparently Superstar Rajinikanth is ruing over the fact of staying away from cinema for almost four years and wants to compensate the lost years by doing more films every year.
With Lingaa releasing in 2014, it would be one of those rare occasion in recent times when two of Rajinikanth movies hit the theatres in the same year. Lingaa has been in limelight for some time with the shocking revelations of the story revolving around the controversial Mullaiperiyaar dam. The fans have gone gaga over Dabangg girl Sonakshi Sinha who had created fan frenzy on the sets of Lingaa in Mysore. One cannot neglect the fact that Rajini-KS Ravikumar jodi has given blockbuster hits in the past and their collaboration in Lingaa only heightens its expectations.
